The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Advertising (APPG) provides an opportunity to bring industry leaders, MPs and Peers together to discuss the positive work of the advertising industry, including its impact across all the nations and regions of the UK. The Advertising Association, ISBA and IPA provide the secretariat for the APPG.
Every day, advertising connects businesses with consumers, funds the media we read and watch, and supports the culture and sport we love. It drives competition, spurs innovation, and contributes billions to the UK economy. The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Advertising brings together parliamentarians from across the political spectrum to examine advertising’s role in our economy and society. It provides a forum for informed discussion between policymakers and industry, exploring opportunities for growth whilst ensuring robust standards through the UK’s world-class self-regulatory system, the Advertising Standards Authority.
The APPG was launched in Parliament on 22 January 2025 by the three main trade bodies for advertising: the Advertising Association, the IPA and ISBA.
Future meetings will showcase the successes of the industry in areas such as responsible advertising, jobs, regional investment, exports and AI.
